We’re trying to get all excited about the summer movie season, because it’s got some hot movies! But it’s also got some duds. Brady, and Jay are joined by contributors Clause (pronounced like Klaus) and Nicholas to discuss what’s worth seeing, as well as what’s not worth seeing, starting today!
Also, Brady’s got another podcast; we talk about the swine flu (it was from Tuesday, so things may be outdated); and we think we have a Patricia sighting! Patricia, as you may recall, phoned in to last week’s episode with some weird question about loading.
Show Notes
Brady says:
Show was okay.
The only other thing I want to mention is that the WSW podcast actually includes contributions from dozens of wrestling personalities.
Jay says:
And for anyone who cares about Nick’s ranting about the Da Vinci Code, go on and read it already!
And go check out the other wrestling podcasts at Who’s Slamming Who, where Brady does the PWI Weekly.
Movie Release Dates
If Jay, Nicholas, Clause, and Brady mentioned a movie, it’s on this list, along with its release date and a short synopsis.
Battle for Terra (May 1) It’s a trap.
X-Men Origins: Wolverine (May 1) Wolverine and his brother Sabretooth meet Team X and Wolverine screams a lot with his claws outstretched.
The Ghosts of Girlfriends Past (May 1) Matthew McConaughey is in it. That’s all you need to know.
Star Trek (May
J. J. Abrams reboots this film franchise in spectacular summer-blockbuster fashion
Angels & Demons (May 15) aka Robert Langdon and the Illuminati Diamond.
Terminator Salvation (May 21) Set in the future, John Connor meets the latest threat from SkyNet—cyborgs!
Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian (May 22) Whatever made the original museum come to life every night has been moved to the Smithsonian.
Drag Me to Hell (May 29) Sam Raimi does horror starring Christine Lohman and, well, now I wanna see it!
Land of the Lost (June 5) The 21st century can’t update the Sleestaks very much, but at least Will Ferrell will be there to make us not laugh.
Imagine That (June 12) Eddie Murphy plays an executive whose career is spiraling downward. Kind of like his real life career.
Year One (June 19) Jack Black is a caveman. I mean, he plays a caveman in a movie. Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (June 24) Giant robots fight while Sam Witwicky goes to college.
Away We Go (June 25) A couple who is expecting their first child travel around the U.S. in order to find a perfect place to start their family. Woo. Fun.
Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince (July 15) The next installment in the Harry Potter series, where love abounds and Dumbledore prepares Harry for the final battle with He Who Must Not Be Named.
Tekken (August 7) Based on the fighting game of the same name, people fight in a tournament, as well as a panda and a bear (OR SO WE HOPE!)
Julie & Julia (August 7) Apparently it’s about Julia Child. S who’s Julie?
G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra (August 7) G.I. Joe is no longer a real American hero, but Cobra is still a cheap threat.
Paper Heart (August 14) Charlyne Yi and Michael Cera find love. No, really. They do!
The Time Traveler’s Wife (August 14) Eric Bana and Rachel McAdams star in this movie, based on a book, with a guy who travels through time when he gets stressed out. Last time I saw Eric stress out, he turned into a big, green fat man.
H2 (August 28) Rob Zombie couldn’t do just one Halloween movie, so here’s a second.
9 (9/9/09) How creative. They release a movie called nine on the date that’s all nines. We should see the movie at 9pm.

So, I definitely want to see H2, 9, Star Trek and Harry Potter. I refuse to see anything with Eddie Murphy in it and I’ll only see Angels and Demons if I can watch the DiVinci Code first.
Sufficient Paws.
Vanessa, why do you want to watch The DaVinci Code first. Angels and Demons is actually the first of the Robert Langdon novels, although they may have changed that continuity for the films.
Yeah, I know it was the first so I’m not really sure WHY I want to see The DaVinci Code first, but I’m weird like that
Chris is right about Angels & Demons being the first novel, but in Hollyworld, the Da Vinci Code was the first movie. I’ll download it and make Vanessa watch it or something.
Jay, you really shouldn’t torture her like that.
[...] movie than any sane person in the world, but I happen to like the series. Anyway, when I recorded 3×04 with Brady and Nick and Clause (pronounced Klauss) I mentioned my excitement over this movie, [...]
