Remember this guy?

You probably don’t, unless you read Gizmodo, or watched that iPhone video I posted last week. Well, funny story about him. Last weekend, cops busted down his front door and stole his computer and the iPhone. And other stuff.

I didn’t find out about it until this morning. Thanks, UK, for being  a little late on the news. (Telegraph)

This was posted yesterday at Gizmodo and would excite just about any tech nerd. It interests me because I finally gave in and decided to want an iPhone.  I even borrowed my brother’s original iPhone (he still has it, and it’s got dead pixels galore and scratches and dents on the screen) to acquaint myself with a new OS and new way of using a handheld device.

Hey everybody,

We’ll be trying out a new theme called F8-Lite, developed by Graph Paper Press. Nik at 2 one 5 turned me on to it and I thought I’d familiarize myself with F8 by trying it out on this site.

If you want to see what else Graph Paper Press has to offer in the way of WordPress themes, check them out here.

Win7 without IE, like a shining beacon of hope or something

So for all you techie computer geeks out there, who cares that Windows 7 — at least in Europe — is going to ship without Internet Explorer installed? At least, that’s what CNET is reporting today. After some anti-trust violations that put Microsoft in some hot seat, they decided to offer the EU version of Windows 7 without its flagship browser. Apparently, it’s not so integrated anymore.

That means European users don’t have to bother ever touching Internet Explorer just to get their favorite browser, though this also means they’d have to somehow get a copy of their favorite browser to install on their brand new PC. It’s like a sick version of Catch 22, where the dire consequences are being unable to access facebook.com/jonasbrosfannumber3.

The only problem I see with this is that, if PC sellers don’t install some other browser onto the computer before selling them, the not-so-tech-savvy people are going to be Internet-free! I mean, there’s a wealth of information on the web about using FTP, but what good is that if you don’t have a web browser to access those sites?

I think Microsoft is doing a good thing by making a non-Internet Explorer version, and I hope it’s released across the world. I mean, sure you’ll have your people who’d get their new computers, pre-installed by the seller with Google Chrome, or maybe use FTP and immediately download IE8, but I think the vast majority of Internet users out there shy away from Internet Explorer. It’s mostly because of the bad rap they got years ago. Remember when it was a piece of crap, and Netscape Navigator 4 was all the rage? Sure, times have changed, but I went straight to Mozilla Firefox from my Netscape, and only gave IE a chance when I was forced to at my workplace.

What are your thoughts? Do you use IE or not? If not, what do you use? Are you one of the few people out there who use Chrome? Why do you use that over other browsers? And who the hell uses Opera, anyway?

Did you watch E3 last weekend? Did yo usee Microsoft’s presentation? Did you see this?

I caught this a couple days after Chris wrote his piece. @jontilton mentioned Milo and I just thought he named his XBOX 360. Turns out that Milo was really the video above. I half believed it, and I 100% wanted to believe it, but I just didn’t buy it’s authenticity.

Well, thanks to PR.net, I found out that Milo isn’t really everything we saw in that video.

Read the article for more information. That British guy bothers me more now that I’ve read the article.

(yeah, i know i wrote ‘eminent’ in the title before and it’s the wrong spelling, but it’s now fixed)

Way to drop the ball, Jay! I didn’t go into the detail I had wanted on my mobile phone history, and in just a couple short days, the 2009 Sidekick LX will be released upon an eager public.

I am part of that public. Horribly eager, as T-Mobile had informed me I’d be receiving it a week and a half after I’d made the pre-order, and then quickly placed in on ‘backorder’ status. After that it was a nightmare discussion with their Customer Care department, as they wouldn’t give me a straight answer about its shipping.

But all shall be well. I receive on May 12, and review on May 13. As promised, though, a few brief words on my old mobile phones.

The world is two weeks away from seeing the new T-Mobile Sidekick LX. This new Sidekick boasts the thinnest form factor and the biggest screen resolution, as well as a free Twitter application and 3G network capability.

Needless to say I am very excited about this. Not only will I be getting a new cell phone, but it’s going to be a fucking sweet car cell phone! (I’ve taken to quoting Grandma’s Boy whenever I say “fucking sweet” about something.) For the next fourteen days (though not every day), until the release of the new Sidekick LX, I will be writing about how excited I am about this phone and things I find important in a mobile device.

Today we start with—

Question: Who’s got two thumbs and is going to have a review of T-Mobile’s new Sidekick LX on or about May 12th?

Answer:

Uh

This guy. (You can’t see my thumbs because they’re busy holding the camera phone.)
