I say “finally” even though I haven’t been to the site in about a month. But, finally, The Art of the Title Sequence presents Zombieland, and an interview with Ben Conrad, the lead guy on the visual effects for the movie.
One of my favorite movie introductions of 2009 was this little summer apocalypse film called Zombieland. The opening credits were amazing. From slo-mo zombie strippers chasing the businessmen on their lunch break to the sandwich board guy being attacked by an onslaught of zombies, his corrugated cardboard box-halves announcing that “THE END IS NEAR,” the opening sequence really nailed down the tone of the film.
The Art of the Title Sequence covers those opening moments of film, those first images you see as you’re getting yourself situated in the darkened theatre, which pull you from your daily life of school, work, sleep, rinse, repeat, and into the world of whatever movie you’re about to enjoy. Title Sequence also interviews, whenever possible, the artistic visionaries behind the title sequence.
