(this stuff is good so you should have some

I used to really dig milk chocolate. Or, maybe, I just liked it. Especially Whachamacallits and Snickers. Milk chocolatey goodness, wrapping peanuts and nougat and caramel and any variety of nommy confectionaries. Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups. Whoever invented peanut butter and milk chocolate should be hailed as a God! White chocolate? Ick. Dark chocolate? Not as much ick, but still, ick. It was too much . . . chocolate. Milk chocolate was where the money was, and Milk chocolate was the best kind of chocolate! I mean, it had milk, right? So it had to be good for you!

Then my friend Lys said dark chocolate is good for you. She said she loved the stuff. Couldn’t get enough of it. If she were stranded on a desert island (I almost typed dessert) with only coffee and dark chocolate, I bet she’d be fine.

So I tried some dark chocolate one day. The chocolate store at the mall had dark chocolate truffles. I picked one up …

… and wondered why I used to hate dark chocolate! It was like, a revelation! Dark chocolate is not only good for you, but it also tastes good, too!

But how, exactly is dark chocolate good for you? I read on Web M.D. that it lowers blood pressure and is rich in antioxidants. What does that spell? Better health for your heart! Better health for you all around! Compared to white chocolate and milk chocolate, dark chocolate may as well be a multivitamin pill, a dietary supplement!

While this is nothing new to the world of health, I am still fascinated that one’s biggest vice can, at the same time, be beneficial to them. So eat up, America (and beyond)! Grab yourself a Hershey’s Special Dark and go for a jog!
