OH NOES! Today in Los Angeles, California, protesters are lining the streets. They are rallying against the state’s Proposition 8, which—voted for by the people of CA on Tuesday, 4 November 2008—denies gay couples the right to marry, despite being given the right earlier this year.
State Supreme Court ruled in In re Marriage Cases that same-sex couples have the right to marriage. California was the second, after Massachusetts, to allow same-sex marriage. This week’s Prop 8 stripped that right away. Hence, the Gay Marriage Rights rally outside a Mormon Church along Santa Monica.
There are big crowds and police in riot gear. Protesters are getting arrested. Buzznet‘s own Panasonic Youth and El Rich are two casualties.

I hope you guys are all right. Fight for your civil rights!
Update: Buzznet has the story, and about as many updates as they could gather, right here. They do a good job piecing together the story. They also have a video of the arrest.
Whatever happened to free speech?
