Welcome back to My Music Mondays. Each week I will be delving into my music collection and looking at a new artist going from A to Z, although I am slightly out of order now. I’ll examine why I first started listening to them, my favorite album and my top 10 songs for the artist. As my music collection is pretty extensive and I have a lot of one offs, I have set a qualification to be featured here. That is that I have to have at least two albums of the artist’s music before they can be considered. This week I look at Coldplay.

I’m not even going to pretend that I am a Coldplay fan. My personal opinion of them is that they are a U2-lite. The only reason I have them in my music collection is because I paid about $3 total for their four major label releases. After having listened to all four of those albums they are OK. I wouldn’t pay to go see them in concert and I probably wouldn’t pay full price for an album of theirs but they aren’t terrible.

Favorite Album: X&Y

It’s about on par with U2′s “All You Can’t Leave Behind” which is a pretty good album but not U2s best work either however X&Y is actually a decent little album.
